Welcome to Our Site

One Accord Prayer Association began with ladies praying and sharing our hearts with one another. From there we submitted applications to minister in our local jails. Our next phase is caring for underprivileged in our community. We are pending IRS 1023 for our 501(c)(3) organization having approval from Secretary of State in Texas. We have completed an application to have Louisiana added as a foreign entity to our existing organization.

Write the Vision

Greetings,

I appreciate you reading about our vision for One Accord Prayer Association. We have a lot of things we want to do! Currently we pray for our local church in Joaquin Texas on Sunday Mornings. In preservice prayer we pray our pastor has an in-season word for the congregation. All of the prayer team has known each other for years, four of the five of us started praying together over 30 years ago. We hope to grow our prayer meetings to include other ladies in our community in a spirit of unity, or you might say "One Accord".

Diaper Dash: Diaper Dash is a program where we purchase Walmart gift cards for struggling young mothers with babies or toddlers. The mother can get diapers, wipes, baby food or any other item the baby or toddler needs. Even if the mother does not have adequate transportation Walmart will deliver making this the perfect way to empower mothers and care for the babies and toddlers in our community. I am looking into a "match" from Walmart, I have to have some other paperwork together before I can apply.

General Fund: The general fund will be used for needs as they arise; administrative, fees, can be moved to other funds that need attention. In other words, this fund is not designated. Running a nonprofit is fun and a great experience however there are fees that come up. We have to pay to file with the IRS as well as the state and have legal representation just to be able to operate. Then there are other things like getting a website; no one believes you are a real nonprofit if they cannot find you online. Cost to grow our brand and get the word out about our organization is something I never thought of before this adventure. It is funny because 6 months ago I thought my biggest challenge was getting Instagram followers.

Jail Ministry: We have put in applications to local jail; there are actually three jails in our area. Getting the application and pastor to sign, then waiting for background checks is a time-consuming process. We hope to add more members to our jail ministry team soon. Our goal is to minister words of life to female inmates, giving them the tools so that when they come out, they will find their God given assignment and pursue His plan for their life. This will require travel and resources.

KCM is going to help us with some resource materials such as the Faith-to-Faith devotion and a few bibles. A ministry goal is of course; we want to have a new bible for our inmates. Not a paperback you get for the dollar store but a nice reference bible.

Another great resource we are wanting to purchase for the inmates is the "Virtue" book written by Tyra Rains. You can follow her on social under "Living Uncommon". I recommend following her on Instagram and YouTube for "Pop-Up Prayer". "Pop-Up Prayer" happens on Tuesday and Thursday at 12 noon central time. It encourages me to watch her full of joy. She always starts out in her Northwesterner accent "Hey Guys". I love it, I love her and her family! Not to give away all the cheese at once but my son is married to her daughter and they have three boys. Ms. Tyra along with her husband Darian Rains pastor Your Place Church, my husband Glenn and I co-grandparent. The "Virtue" book is not just inspirational it is a movement in the town of Pryor Creek Oklahoma.

James 1:27 Fund: Take a kid shopping: The next passion is caring for underprivileged persons. In James 1;27 the bible talks about visiting or caring for widows and orphans. The James 1:27 fund is designated to do just that, most underprivileged children are impacted socially when they do not have the same clothes as the others in their social group. One of our goals is to gather funds to take underprivileged children shopping.

Some kids have never been able to go to a nice store and pick out their own clothes. Clothing and shoes make a statement; it defines who they are. When a child only has what was on the clearance it does not usually reflect their personality same with "hand me downs". Of course, it is a blessing when you do not have nice things to receive clothing that someone else no longer uses but there is something special about picking out the clothes yourself.

What does allowing a child to pick out their own clothing do? It helps the child define who they are! Defining who you are or another way to say it is "how you present yourself" is confidence building. Also, decision-making skills are essential to a child growing up to be a well-balanced adult.

Taking a child shopping is my favorite project. We want to let the child have a day on the town so the shopping experience will be followed by a trip to "Chuck E. Cheese", Party Zone, or something fun. Some of the children in our rural area have never been to "Chuck E. Cheese" or "Party Zone" because these places are over 50 miles away. So, the big vision with take a child shopping is to have donations of $600.00 for each child, load them up in a vehicle and head to the big city. Take them to a nice retail store. Nothing against Walmart but that is not where we are taking them and then go do something fun.

Keep in mind, this is writing the vision...we would need a nice vehicle! if the child has siblings, we will bring them along and get them new clothes also. A parent would need to come with us to go into the changing room with the child. For these reasons, the appropriate vehicle is needed as well. In writing the vision and making in plain we are believing for a new Toyota Grand Highlander in white or black. I believe in being specific, why this vehicle? Because it seats 8 and still has plenty of cargo room. To make this vision come to life we would need funds to cover insurance, and do not forget nonprofits are not exempt form excise tax. Then maintenance on the vehicle, tires gas all would need to come in along with funds to shop, put gas in the vehicle and do something fun.

Also, that the James 1:27 fund is designated for is needs as they arise for elderly, children, homeless and underprivileged persons. We are looking into ways to support the elderly in a more substantial way. I believe God will give us the wisdom going forward on what and how for now we will just focus on what we know to do.

Things that did not turn out as planned: I wanted to do coats for kids as well as shoes, but we have missed two deadlines for this year. I found out another church is doing coats so a 2026 goal would be shoes for underprivileged children. We may do some jackets for kids in 2026 depending on funding, please understand our intentions are not to "walk on" another churches mission. If we find out another church is doing shoes or light jackets, we will seek another direction to support school age kids. If we are able to move forward this would come from the James 1:27 fund.  This year we have been able to get jackets and coats for 7 kids; ages range all the way up to 17.

I hope to partner with you in prayer for the work of the ministry God has assigned us to and if you are able to give to our organization, please utilize the buttons below to donate or contact us directly. at oneaccordprayerassociation@gmail.com

Contend for a move of God,

Mary
